Privacy Policy
In short: Keepers works entirely on your iPhone. We don't collect, store or receive any of your data: no videos, no personal information, no usage statistics. The app has no account and doesn't connect to the internet.
This policy covers the Keepers app for iPhone (“the app”) and this website. “We” means the developer of Keepers.
What the app accesses, and why
Videos you choose
When you tap Choose videos, the system photo picker opens. Keepers only receives the videos you select there; it can't see the rest of your library. Each selected video is copied to the app's temporary folder so it can be analysed.
Speech recognition
To find the moments where someone is talking, Keepers may use Apple's on-device speech recognition. It runs only when your language's speech model is already installed on your iPhone, and it runs offline. Transcripts are used only to score clips; they are never saved or sent anywhere. If the model isn't installed, Keepers detects speech from the sound alone.
On-device analysis
Faces, motion and picture quality are measured with Apple's Vision framework on your device. Face detection only finds where faces are in the frame. It doesn't recognise who anyone is, and nothing it produces leaves the app.
What is stored, and for how long
- Imported clips are deleted when you choose a new set of videos, and every time the app starts.
- The finished reel stays in the app's temporary folder until you build a new one or the app restarts. To keep it, use the Share button, for example Save Video.
- Analysis results stay in memory only and are gone when you start over or close the app.
None of this is backed up to iCloud by the app or copied off the device.
What we collect
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code, and no third-party SDKs. It makes no network requests of its own. On the App Store, Keepers is listed as Data Not Collected.
If you choose to share Apple's crash reports and diagnostics with app developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us anonymised crash logs under Apple's own privacy policy. We use them only to fix bugs.
Purchases
Removing the watermark is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. The app asks StoreKit on your device whether the purchase has been made; Apple doesn't tell us who you are.
Sharing
A reel only leaves the app when you share it through the system Share sheet, and it goes only to the destination you pick. What happens next is governed by that app's or service's own privacy policy.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
This website
thekeepers.app is a static site with no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any web server, our hosting provider may keep standard access logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operation. We don't use those logs to identify visitors.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we don't share them with anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data from the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. To erase everything Keepers has on your phone, delete the app. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, just ask.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. If the app ever starts collecting data, this page will say so before that version is released.
