Email supportIf something went wrong, it helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version, and roughly how many clips and how long they were.
Getting started
How many clips should I choose?
10–20 works best. Fewer is fine, but there's less to choose from. More takes longer to analyse and rarely improves the result. The videos can be MOV or MP4, straight from the camera, with no trimming first.
Why does the analysis take a while?
Keepers looks at every clip frame by frame on your phone instead of uploading it to a server. It takes a few seconds per clip, and longer on older iPhones or when the phone is warm. It only happens once: changing the mix afterwards is instant.
My iPhone gets warm during analysis. Is that normal?
Yes. The analysis uses the same hardware as the camera's image processing. Keepers checks the phone's temperature and works through fewer clips at a time when it gets hot.
Does Keepers need internet access?
No. Everything works offline, including the analysis. The only exception is the in-app purchase, which needs a connection to reach the App Store.
Editing
What do the presets do?
They set the highlight mix in one tap. Talking favours speech and faces, Scenery favours sharp, well-exposed shots, Action favours movement, and Balanced sits in between. After a preset, drag the boundaries in the bar to adjust, or open Fine tuning for four separate sliders.
Can I change the order, or drop a cut I don't like?
Yes. In the cut list, drag a row by its handle to move it, or tap the red minus to remove it. Moving the mix again rebuilds the list from scratch, and removed cuts can come back.
How long is the reel?
30 seconds by default. Change Reel length, Cut length and Per source clip in the settings row on the edit screen. Turn on Chronological to keep the cuts in filming order instead of strongest first.
Keepers missed the best moment in a clip.
Try a different preset first. If you know what you want (people talking, say), push that part of the mix up. The scores in the cut list show how each moment rated. If a clip is consistently misjudged, we'd love to hear about it.
Saving and sharing
Where is my finished reel saved?
Until you share it, nowhere permanent. Tap Share on the finished screen and choose Save Video to put it in Photos, or send it straight to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Messages. The copy inside Keepers is cleared when you build a new reel or restart the app.
What format is the reel?
A vertical 9:16 video at 1080×1920. Landscape clips are cropped around the subject of each shot.
The watermark purchase
What does the purchase do?
Keepers is free. Every reel carries a small “made with thekeepers.app” mark, and a one-time purchase removes it from all future reels. There's no subscription, and the app has no other purchases.
I bought it, but my reel still has the watermark.
The mark is part of the video file, so a reel built before the purchase can't be changed. If you buy while a finished reel is on screen, Keepers rebuilds it without the mark automatically. Otherwise tap Change the mix and then Build the reel again.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, build a reel, and tap Restore purchase on the finished screen. Usually it is restored automatically.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
